While you have decided to quit smoking, you will most likely have to deal with occasional nicotine cravings, which will decrease the longer you go without smoking. 5. Replace cigarettes with gum, mints and hard candy to deal with any oral fixation issues. Healthier options include celery and carrot sticks as well as nuts and dried fruit. Reward yourself for successfully resisting the urge to smoke, such as putting aside some money every time you fight the urge for traveling or buying yourself an item you always wanted.
