Cope With Nicotine Urges

Smoking causes an addiction to nicotine.

When you smoke, your body becomes dependent on nicotine. When you stop the supply, you will get nicotine cravings. Each craving lasts 3 to 5 minutes. Besides cravings, you may experience other withdrawal symptoms such as headaches, insomnia, coughing and depression. According to MayoClinic.com, when you have the urge to smoke, no matter how intense the urge is, it will be short whether you have the cigarette or not; every time you resist, you're one step closer to stopping for good. Remember, the cravings last a few minutes, but the benefits will last a lifetime.
