Quit Smoking Without Nicotine

Every cigarette package bears a warning about the harmful effects of smoking. But may people find it hard to quit without nicotine replacement.

Instructions

Process

1. Figure out what makes you want to smoke. The first option for quitting is to exercise willpower, and that's not easy for everyone. Evaluate your personal situation and come up with ways to prepare for this tough process. Set a time frame of when to stop.

2. Write down how much money you spend on cigarettes. You'll see the amount you're throwing away each week, money you could use on other things.

3. Be accountable. Tell your family and friends you need to quit smoking, and ask for their help in holding you responsible for it. Tell them all the details about your plan.

4. Enter a program that will help you or prepare you for the process. Be sure the program does not use nicotine replacement as its primary focus. Be honest with yourself and don't be hard on yourself, but try to stick to the program.

5. Take up something like an exercise program or a hobby to change your routine and focus on positive things that will keep you busy. Plan fun things to do with your family and friends.
