Know If Someone Is Smoking Within Your House

According to wrongdiagnosis.com, around 60 million Americans are regular smokers. With a number like this, it should not be surprising to find out that someone in your home is smoking. Of course, the act of smoking can be kept hidden, but the effects of smoking are pretty hard to hide. The smoke odor, avoidance and unusual hours spent behind closed doors are tell-tale signs of smoking.

Instructions

1. Be aware of sudden unusual rituals of washing clothes, hands and other things in your suspected housemate. Smokers know that the smoke odor lingers, so doing these things is a way to eliminate the strong odor of smoke.

2. Pay attention to how much time the suspected smoker spends alone in her room or the bathroom. Knock on the door to see if it takes her longer than usual to open the door. Regardless, if she was smoking by the window or not, you will be able to determine whether she is smoking.

3. Notice the smoke odor throughout the home. If someone is a smoker, the odor will leave a trail, even if he does not smoke in the home.

4. Look for lighters or matches in her room. Smokers keep several lighters around, so she may inadvertently leave one laying around.

5. Check for ash trays, cigarette butts and ashes around the places he normally is.

6. Pay attention to constant gum chewing or brushing of teeth. She may be trying to cover up her bad cigarette breath.
