Take Chantix

Take Chantix

Some say that quitting smoking is harder than quitting a heroin addiction. Indeed, everyone knows somebody who has tried and failed to quit smoking, often repeatedly. There are many "cures" out there from hypnosis to nicotine gum but nothing seems to have the same effectiveness as the Pfizer prescription drug Chantix. Studies show that in controlled experiments 44% of people using Chantix were able to quit smoking. So how does Chantix work?

Instructions

1. Get your prescription and choose a date to quit smoking. Chantix is a 12-week prescription drug program that targets the part of the brain affected by nicotine. You begin the treatment while you're still smoking so it is imperative that you have a confirmed quit date when you begin taking the pills.

2. Start with the green package of pills one week before your quit date. The green package contains enough white pills to get you through the first week. On days one, two and three take one white pill a day. Beginning on day four, take two pills a day, one in the morning and one at night. The day after you finish all the pills is your quit date.

3. Try to quit smoking completely on your quit date. Many people report that they lost the urge to smoke before their quit date. On your quit date start using the blue package of pills. You will take one blue pill in the morning and one at night.

4. Continue taking the blue pills for twelve weeks.

5. Enroll in a quit smoking support group. Information on the Chantix sponsored support group GetQuit is available on the Chantix website.
