Teenagers need to pay special attention to the health and beauty of their hair.

Beautiful, healthy hair is essential for a teenager. There are several tips that you can follow to enrich and strengthen your hair. Hair care does not need to be difficult or time consuming. You can easily get happy, healthy, and beautiful hair without using expensive hair products or professional salons as long as you follow tips to keep your hair healthy naturally.

Daily Routine

A consistent daily routine keeps your hair beautiful and vibrant. A good tip to start the day is to brush your hair before taking a shower. This way, all dead hair and skin cells can be removed before you wash your hair. During a shower, shampoo your hair when you feel like your hair is dirty. There is no need to over-shampoo your hair. Washing your hair three to four times a week should be sufficient. Some hair experts do suggest moisturizing every day in the shower. Many hair experts also recommend not utilizing hair dryers or curling irons to dry hair. These devices tend to overheat hair and end up damaging hair. Once your hair is dry, you should begin brushing it. Never brush hair when it is wet since wet hair can easily be damaged by the force of brushing.

Transition Effectively from Middle School to High School

When entering high school, you may want to update your hair style to look older. Specialize on the features that makes your hair unique. If a hair has a part, make that part more noticeable. If your hair has curls, make them curlier or looser. This tip is more aesthetic, but it can help build your self-confidence and self-respect.

Diet and Lifestyle

The teenage years are a crucial stage for physical development. Diet, exercise, and other factors play a pivotal role in hair health. Hair growth is promoted by proteins, vitamin E, B vitamins, iron, and sulfur. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, a teenager should eat foods high in these nutrients for general good health. You should also avoid drugs and substances that usually are consumed during teenage years, such as caffeine, sugar, nicotine, and carbonated drinks. The Department of Health and Human Services suggests a teenager should eat only six teaspoons of oil a day.
