Treat Smoking

The danger of smoking is no secret. Heart disease, cancer and respiratory problems are all risks of smoking. There are countless measures to treat smoking. The challenge is finding treatment that is suitable for you.

Instructions

1. Throw away all your cigarette packages in a location that is away from your home, so that you will not be tempted to retrieve them.

2. Find activities you can do during the times when you usually smoke. List hobbies and interests like playing basketball, listening to music, drawing, etc.

3. Let your family and friends know that you plan to quit smoking within a week. Spend as much time with non-smokers as possible. Always keep in mind your goal of quitting within a week.

4. Join a support group like Nicotine Anonymous. You will find helpful ways of kicking your smoking habit. Look for support groups at work, through hospitals and through health-insurance companies.

5. Buy nicotine-replacement products such as gum, lozenges and nasal sprays. Targeting the addiction aspect of smoking can help you quit smoking.
